How to Play Not Not Game

Not Not is a classic case of "easy to say, hard to do." This WASD brain game's main premise is simple: follow each command accurately.

At the beginning of each run, your character is positioned in the center of a cube and can run either up, down, left, or right.

Once you start, you will immediately be given commands, such as "left," "up," "not down," and "not not down," among others.

Your only job is to quickly follow each command, triggering the next one. Over time, the commands get trickier.

Pro Tip #1: Don't Get Into a Rhythm

Even if you're that person who unintentionally claps on the off-beat, everyone has an innate sense of rhythm to one degree or another.

If Not Not tells you to go "left," "left," or "left," your brain may automatically lock into a rhythm and subconsciously tell you to go left on the fourth command, even though it might say "up" instead.

One trick is to quickly say the word out loud before making a choice to prevent this from happening.

Pro Tip #2: The Evens and Odds Rule

As you progress in Not Not, you'll see more convoluted instructions like "not not not left," or "not not down," etc.

Instead of mentally registering each "not" to determine the right move, you can use the evens and odds rule:

• If there is an even number of "nots," then it always means to follow the instruction (not not left = go left).

• If there is an odd number, it always means to not follow the instruction (not not not left = don't go left).
